Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to the website of the Tartu Welcome Centre (tartuwelcomecentre.ee) and covers both desktop and mobile versions of the site.

We want everyone who visits the Tartu Welcome Centre website to feel welcome and to be able to find information easily. Accessibility is an essential part of providing public information, and we continuously work to make the website usable for as many people as possible — including visitors who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnifiers, voice control or alternative input devices.

We aim to meet the accessibility requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and the European standard EN 301 549.

Overall, the Tartu Welcome Centre’s website is accessible and easy to navigate. Our recent accessibility review found no critical barriers, but we identified a few small improvements that will make the experience even smoother for all visitors.

We are currently improving:

  • A few images that are missing or have incomplete descriptions.
  • Some links that use generic text such as “here,” which can be unclear for screen reader users.
  • A minor issue where a person’s name and title are read together as one word by screen readers.
  • Low contrast in footer logos and for keyboard focus on information boxes
  • Missing or too small keyboard focus in main menu and page footer

We plan to resolve these by 31.12.2025.
